What It's Like Living and Working in Denver - The Deets: No.15
Welcome to everyone joining from the New York Times article + catch me on an upcoming speaking panel for Denver Startup Week
Wow, it's been about a year and a half since I've sent a newsletter to this list. Sorry for that, but 2020 was a tough year and as a result I put this newsletter, my blog, and my Instagram account on the back burner. I'm only now starting to slowly roll back into some level of (new) normalcy!
I wanted to make a few quick announcements:
1. First off, a big hello and thank you to everyone who found this newsletter after my blog and Facebook group "I Moved to Denver" were featured in an article in the New York Times. I truly appreciate you taking the time and effort to sign up for this newsletter. I hope you find it useful!
2. For anyone still thinking of moving to Denver, this year's Denver Startup Week has a FREE virtual panel aimed at answering your most pressing questions about living and working in Denver on Tuesday, October 5 at 4pm MDT.
I will be one of the panelists during the session alongside Britt Diehl (Downtown Denver Partnerships), Josh Scott (Entreprenuer and Co-Founder of Craftsy, sold to NBC), and Kwame Spearman (Co-Owner and CEO of the Tattered Cover Book Store). Panel details and info on how to sign up for the session can be found here. Hope to see you there!
3. To that end, I encourage everyone to check out Denver Startup Week. It is a 100% FREE event and is not just for people who work in tech or at a startup. The session topics cover a wide variety of topics and you can probably find at least one session that might be of interest to you.
The first year I moved to Denver I became a DSW volunteer and have attended the event nearly every year since. The entire event is hybrid this year, which means even if you can't attend the select number of events that will be done in person (or aren't currently located in Denver), you can check out nearly all the sessions online. Pretty great!
Please feel to spread the word to friends, family, and colleagues who might be interested.
Thanks once again for all of your awesome feedback and support.
Best,
Laura
